Remembering Juneteenth
Dear Friends,
Below please find a video with a wonderful time of sharing from the Revs. Rod and Tammy Ingram, sharing with us the history of Juneteenth. We hope you can share this video with your congregations, either on social media on Friday or perhaps in worship on Sunday. I am grateful for the Ingrams, and for their strong leadership in our Northern Piedmont District. Rod is an Elder serving at Memorial UMC in High Point, and Tammy is a Provisional Elder serving at Trinity Memorial and St. Mary’s in Trinity. Tammy will soon become the Senior Pastor of the Bass Chapel-Raleigh’s Crossroads charge in Greensboro. The Ingrams reside in Jamestown.
May you find this history, and the music that follows it, to be a blessing and a time of learning. Thank you, Lord… for history that helps us understand, for sharing that is the heart of the Christian life, for learning which is important to all of us, for renewal of our world through Kingdom life.
Blessings,
Rev. Bev Coppley
District Superintendent
