Local Church Resources

Dear Friends,

I am reaching out to say thanks to all of you for your connectional spirit in this new year. It has been my joy in December and January to conduct clergy consultations and to begin the process of seasonal committee consultations. I loved the time we spent together at our first Equipping Seminar at Jamestown a few weeks ago. The second offering is  this Sunday, January 26 at 3:00pm, at Christ UMC in Greensboro. At our first seminar, we shared information about the recent Protocol that emerged on January 3 after months of productive, covenantal conversations among many trusted denominational leaders who are a part of the dialogue on human sexuality and the church. (More about the Protocol)  We will be sharing that information again this Sunday as we continue to move through these important conversations.

I also invite you to take a look at this website link, which is not only helpful for daily resources for the local church, but is also helpful as we prepare for our next General Conference in May. If I were currently pastoring a congregation, its guidance is the kind of wisdom I would be using to shepherd them prayerfully and lovingly through a time of change. I hope you will find it helpful.

Please know I am a resource for you, and only a phone call or email away if I can be of any support to you as you help your congregations navigate as centers of gospel love and missional transformation.

Blessings,
Bev Coppley
District Superintendent
